The Central Taranaki Safe Community Trust (CTSCT) was established in 2009 following the success of the Home Safety Project which saw thousands of smoke alarms installed in Central Taranaki homes.

Since 2009, CTSCT have been working on:

  • Central Taranaki Community Patrol
  • Child and Youth Safety
  • Road Safety
  • Home Safety
  • Mental Health Awareness
  • Water Safety
  • Central Taranaki Neighbourhood Support

CTSCT has been accredited to the Charities Commission since 2009 and the Safe Communities Foundation of New Zealand (SCFNZ) since 2016.

The Trust employs Community Safety Officer, Di Gleeson to co-ordinate Neighbourhood Support and Central Taranaki Community Patrol while overseeing the Community Project Officer, Hannah Shepherd who sits as the current SCFNZ regional coordinator and manages the trusts safety campaigns and initiatives.

The Community Safety and Community Project Officers are housed at the Stratford Police Station.
