Stan Chesswas is the owner and trainer at Tasman Training Ltd. He is diploma qualified in Health and Safety in the Workplace which give him the skills to develop courses to meet WorkSafe requirements.

Stan also has accreditation from MITO, Competenz and Connexis and can train and assess people undertaking adult education within the NZQA framework.

Stan’s background is in contracting for companies here and in Australia as well as running his own businesses including farming. He has plenty of hands-on experience in the transport and earthmoving industries.

Stan began his training career in Australia and has many years of training experience in Australia and here in Taranaki.

Tasman Training, in partnership with DT Driver Training has recently launched an online forklift course that is being sold all around New Zealand. This is a cost effective and efficient way for forklift operators to up skill and gain a certificate demonstrating training and induction under the Health and Safety at Work Act. We are developing a suite of courses covering a variety of machines.

We operate from our training rooms in Stratford and also on site at the employer’s workplace. We recognise the pressures on working people to find time to upskill. We don’t have a rigid course calendar and can generally make a time to suit our trainee’s schedule, weekends included.

We own most of the machines used for training. We aim to do more than the minimum and achieve this by giving our trainees all the time they need at the wheel.

We are skilled at helping trainees to complete our courses particularly if they need help with reading and writing.
