Stratford Christmas Parade – Friday 28th November

Float registrations close Thursday 20th November

Stratford Business Association has been hard at work preparing this years Christmas Parade (with a little help from the North Pole and a certain VIP) This years theme is ‘Royal Christmas” to coincide with the Stratford A&P Association who are hosting a Royal Show this year 29th-30th November.

  • Road closures from 4.30pm – 7.30pm
  • Entertainment in Prospero Place from 5pm
  • The parade begins at 6.30pm!
  • Carols around 7pm

 

Participant Information

  • This year’s Christmas Parade theme is ‘Royal Christmas’.
  • A safety briefing will be held at 5.45pm sharp prior to the parade, in the War Memorial Hall Stadium. You must attend this briefing.
  • Frontline Ambulance will be placed in Prospero Place near the Library.
  • Judging will take place at 5.30pm in the War Memorial Carpark.
  • All floats must be decorated to an acceptable standard. Floats that are not
    suitably decorated may risk refusal.
  • Prizes (Stratford Business Association Vouchers) will be awarded to 1st ($1000), 2nd ($750), 3rd ($500) and best school ($1000).
  • The parade start time is 6.30pm.
  • Floats must not contain anything of a sensitive or offensive nature and must
    depict a theme suitable for young children.
  • No Santa’s on floats, there is only one Santa in the parade, so please don’t
    spoil the highlight.
  • Floats must be constructed with safety in mind. If you have people on board,
    they must have something to hold onto in case of sudden stops.
  • Nothing is to be thrown out from your floats (includes lollies, balloons and
    water).
  • All props on board floats must be securely fastened.
  • Please enter the War Memorial car park via Seyton Street, where parade
    marshals will direct you into position.
  • All large floats must have 2 people to walk at the front of their float (one on
    either side)
